Dr. Barrette, who was an Advisor for the International
Association for Sport and Physical Education in Higher Education and a member
of their Society of Fellows, has written and lectured extensively on youth
sport programming and instruction and was co-editor of Myths, Models, and
Methods In Sport Pedagogy. He
and his colleagues at Adelphi University held yearly instructional workshops
for Little League of America and numerous youth sports organizations in the New
York Metropolitan area for almost three decades.
Presently Dr. Barrette is a professor in the College of
Education, Florida Atlantic University and serves as the Chairman of the Board
of Directors for the Florence De George Boys & Girls Club in Palm Beach
County, which in 2008 was recognized as the best Boys & Girls Club program
in the country.
